In the year 1977, two golden phonograph records were launched into outer space as part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Voyager project.
Our proverbial “bottle into the cosmic ocean,” these records contained audio and image data from Earth in an earnest - if primitive - attempt to show the universe that we are here, and we are beautiful.
It’s been nearly fifty years since the launch of Voyager, and much has changed about us and our home. I do not know what will happen in the next fifty years, but I do know that no matter what happens, I want you to be there with me to dance upon the ashes, to share in the joy of knowing each other, of loving each other. I want this more than anything.
I created Leywalker Systems because I love my friends. I want to see them, to feel them, to comfort and be comforted by them. Our work is about so much more than making computer games; now, more than ever, people yearn to feel connected with each other. They yearn for Art made by Human Hands. They yearn for a new Golden Record, of a kind: a precipitation of our heartfelt ambitions, a relic of our being.
It’s our job to fucking give it to them.
Yours forever,
